Dial Supportive Home Care

Ohio Shared Living
Providing personalized care for your needs.
Dial Supportive Home Care offers Ohio Shared Living (OSL) as a supportive residential service for individuals with developmental disabilities who prefer a family-style living environment. Ohio Shared Living allows individuals to receive personalized support while living in the home of a caregiver or in their own home with a live-in support provider.
In Ohio Shared Living, a Direct Support Professional (DSP) makes a long-term commitment to share daily life with the individual, providing assistance with routines, personal care, skill development, and community involvement. This model encourages meaningful relationships, stability, and a sense of belonging.
Supports are tailored to each individual’s needs and are identified through an assessment and documented in the Individual Service Plan (ISP). Services focus on promoting independence, safety, and quality of life while integrating individuals into family and community life.
Ohio Shared Living is available to individuals enrolled in the Individual Options (IO) Waiver and may be considered during emergency placements. Unlike other residential models, Ohio Shared Living does not require the caregiver to be related to the individual. The service may be authorized when a live-in caregiver provides a significant portion of the individual’s daily support.
