Maintaining a Safe and Organized Home
Dial Supportive Home Care supports individuals in maintaining good personal hygiene and a clean, organized home. As part of our goal to help individuals feel comfortable and safe in their living environment, our Direct Support Professionals ensure that clients’ homes are kept tidy and well organized. This includes organizing furniture, cabinets, and common living areas to help individuals feel safe and comfortable as they age or recover at home.
Our staff supports individuals in becoming more independent while meeting their daily living needs at home and in the community. They also assist individuals with daily living skills, household chores, and personal care, including:
Getting dressed and maintaining personal hygiene
Preparing meals
Managing money to pay household bills
Getting out and participating in the community
Assisting with transportation to medical, dental, and other healthcare appointments
Cleaning and doing laundry
Staff also support individuals in improving their ability to express their opinions, choices, and feelings.
According to the Department, agencies and independent providers that have a Medicaid provider agreement and are DODD-certified may provide this service.
Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) services can be provided on a one-on-one basis or as a group service. Providers may also perform homemaker activities on behalf of the individual during times when the individual is not physically present.
HPC services cannot be provided at the same time as:
Money Management
Residential Respite
Adult Day Support
Group Employment Support
Individual Employment Support
Non-Medical Transportation
Vocational Habilitation
Homemaker/Personal Care services cannot be provided by a county board of developmental disabilities or a regional council of governments.
